One of the most iconic places to visit when in California would be the GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY. This place is home to a lot of interesting tidbits and beautiful view.
Getting there would require you to have your own car. Although tour buses and other transportation options are available, it's best to bring your own. If you're there just for the sights, get there before 12noon on weekdays and before 10am on weekends would not require you to pay for parking.
This is one of the best places to have a picture with the HOLLYWOOD SIGN that downtown LA is known for. Don't forget to bring a camera and some quarters if you plan to use the telescopes.
The view is just amazing. More so if it's sunset or almost night time.
Going around the place is basically free. If there are programs or if you wish to enter the buildings, you might need to get a ticket and pay for it.
There are a lot of spots that you could take photos from. So bring your OOTD game with you.
It's a bit of a zigzag going up and down the place so be careful when you head up.

Griffith Observatory could lead you to a jogging/hiking path that would definitely make your heart pound. It's also a nice walk to let you see nature and a view.
