First meal off the flight was Cebu's very own CNT Lechon!!!
Since our rooms weren't ready yet in Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu (click here), my friend and I walked all the way to CNT LECHON and enjoyed their offerings! It was great since it only took a 5 minute walk going to their main base of operation.
When you see this, you know you are there. Just go to the 2nd floor.
And this welcomes you.
Women doing all the chopping. I tell you its an art form!!!
When you get there, you better get a number first. Ordering is a bit complicated when you start out but you get the hung of it later on.
After getting a number, you wait for it to be called. If you are dining in, you get a tray and order puso (rice wrapped in coconut leaves) and other things you may like from the counter. When your number is called you order your lechon. How many kilos and also you get to request for a part. Suggest you go for the belly!!
After paying, go get a table. If you have someone with you and its rush hour let them do this while you line up.Duh!!
The place is pretty much straight forward. No aircon here though so bring a fan!
Don't forget to get their concoction of soy sauce and some vinegar. Seriously this makes the world go round! Yup no sarsa around!
We got a half kilo of lechon (240Php) and 4 puso.
The meat was pretty much tender and wonderful.
The Cebu lechon has one characteristic. It is a bit salty but it really is awesome!
The skin was crunchy and the meat was soft and wow drool mode!!!
We really enjoyed the meal especially how affordable it was!
The night before our last day in Cebu, I couldn't really sleep. I was thinking about my family back in Manila and I know I just had to let them experience what real cebu lechon is. So being the kind son that I am, I took it to myself and reserved some lechon to bring home.
They pack the stuff for you in boxes and these are really awesome! For a big box though, they ask for an additional 20 Php. Worth it I tell you!!!
When I picked up the stuff, there was this guy in barong who was ahead of me in line. He also wanted to order some to bring to Manila. Sadly, he didn't call in advance so no pig for him and everything for me. 6kilos of LECHON baby! Wait I only got 4, the other 2 were for my companion.
Moral lesson of the story, call in ahead and have it reserve.

I hope they'll have enough lechon for the whole day. Last time I was there, they would usually run out after lunch.
