If you are a professionally licensed individual, you would know about PRC and the application process and the renewals right? You all have been there and experienced the agony and the waiting and the heat. Yes and so have I!!!!
Thankfully, PRC has updated itself and listened to our prayers. You can now renew your license without the long lines and you can do it in a mall!
and forced myself to go to SM North Edsa.
When I got there, I totally forgot that I needed to have some requirements! DUH! Unlike going directly to a PRC office, the satellite office in SM North Edsa only required me to have a passport size picture with a white background with a name tag on it. Also, don't forget to wear something with a collar.
Great thing that SM "We got it all for you" Mall has almost all the stuff that I need. The nearest and most affordable place to get a picture would be in Mitsubishi Digital.
It is located in the basement level of the main mall.
A set of photos would only cost 60Php. Not bad considering that they edit the picture a bit and also put a digital name tag on it. It only took me 10 minutes for the pics to be available (from start to finish).
After getting the photos, I went directly to the Business Services. There, I answered a form and gave my photo id. They also took a picture of me for backup. They informed me that it would take a month or so for me to get my license. Since I wasn't in any hurry, it was fine with me. I, then, asked if they needed to get a photocopy of my card or even see it. They said that they no longer needed it and would just check everything online.
After submitting everything, I was given the option to have it delivered. There would be an additional 100Php, give or take, for delivery. I chose to have the licensed picked up since it would be faster. If it would be for delivery, there would be an additional 1 week of delay. Weird!
I paid 450 for the renewal then 50 for the process fee and 60 for the pictures. All in all, I paid 560Php.
I needed to call this number to follow up if my id was ready for pickup.
So here are some observations:
1) Bring a Passport sized Photo Id with Name Tag before you go there.
2) Bring a pen
3) Don't forget to bring cash.
4) SM North Edsa would accept renewals 6 months prior to expiry.
In comparison to going to Morayta's PRC
1) You can claim your id on the same day (same payment process no more additional fees to be paid)
a) Could be released within an hour or 2.
2) Still needs the Photo ID
3) I am not sure with this but bring a photocopy of your ID back and front
4) According to my friend A, who did hers a few weeks back, it was fast and painless except that her picture wasn't that nice because it wasn't digital.
5) Good Luck with the parking and the traffic.
In any case, I guess it is a win win situation.
Since I wanted to have a relax feel and chill atmosphere, I went for the mall option. If you need the license ASAP, then I would suggest you go for the PRC Morayta option. Enjoy :D

Hi unknown.. Yeah they do... :D :D :D Its a welcomed service... Just in case you wanted to renew in PRC main, I believe they could accommodate you as early as a year before but it is better to call them 1st to ask. :D :D :D Cheers
ReplyDeleteHi Sir, would you happen to ask about any late fees for expired licenses like more than a year?
ReplyDeleteHi roni!!! uhm usually late fees are computed per month you are overdue.... like my tito's physician license was long long expired like a few years... he paid an additional few hundred pesos for it to be renewed..... good part these centers process them... suggest you give them a call to verifyand to compute the fees.... hope ithis info helps
Deletenot a gud idea! bn waiting for my id. to be delivrd for almost two months! yet wla pa din!! not really convinient ac2ali!! just go drectly to prc
ReplyDeletehi tezu!!!! if you are really in a hurry, i would definitely suggest to renew it at prc.. but if you have the luxury go fort his way , albeit it does take longer. I got mine a few days after the 2 month period ... and from whatt hey said, it would be better for a pick up because having them delivered takes longer
DeleteNice blog . Can i renew my friends PRC id together with mine at SM malls ? We are both RNs. I usually go to morayta for our renewal, but i want to be hassle free and instead go to SM.thanks
ReplyDeleteif i am not mistaken, you would need to be physically present because they would take a picture
Deletehi sir. nabasa ko po un tito nyo na physician expired na license for a few years? may i know how many years po? kc un license ko as physical therapist nagexpire na 7 years and nabasa ko na pag more than 5 years kelangan na magrefresher course. nagrefresher course po ba un tito nyo na physician? thanks.
ReplyDeleteHello trinity! ^_^ my tito had it renewed i guess almost a decade after. I believe you would need to pay fees corresponding to the number of months past expiry. I would suggest that you call prc / sm customer service and ask about it. Im not familiar about that refresher course though. Hope this helps
DeleteDo they have duplication service also for lost prc id there?
ReplyDeleteHi there, unknown, unfortunately, they do not. You have to go to one of their offices. As I have personally experienced this, I suggest you go to their main. It takes an hour if you are early or two if you're a bit late and they give you the new card right there and then. Just don't forget to bring the requirements :)
ReplyDeletecan I renew my prc id card at renewal center at sm malls..evrn if it is 8 months expired..?
ReplyDeleteFrom experience yes. Please call first to verify.
ReplyDeleteHello sir.can I send my application for board exam there? Thanks in advance
ReplyDeleteI believe you can't. Application for board exams are supposed to be sent and applied to in the PRC OFFICES
DeletePlease be advised. There is now a new ONLINE SYSTEM for PRC RENEWAL.
ReplyDeleteYou could check it out on their website.
sir can i renew PRC license even weekends?
ReplyDeleteFrom what I understand, you could do it via PRC'S website then just pick it up at their office. OR if you're pondering on doing it in SM, and you're willing to wait (like a few months) ... then I guess you can do it during weekends. BUT for PRC I think only during weekdays.
DeleteSir update lang. wla na prc renewal sa sm north
ReplyDeleteThanks Cristopher. I think, there is a new process for prc license renewal. Better to check their online website. Thank you
