Sporting a countryside feel, THE WHOLESOME TABLE is not just an upgrade of Aria. It is an organic transformation that levels the playing field.

Most would say that "farm to table and be organic" would be the in-thing to go now a days. THE WHOLESOME TABLE makes good use of this idea and lets the diners experience this healthy concept.

The common notion would be that if it was organic then the taste would suffer. Although I have been hearing some mixed reviews about this restaurant, I think we were lucky that we gave it a shot. SO loved the food even though she didn't want to eat "healthy". She was on the fence with regards to eating healthy because we just had our GREEN PASTURES date (click here).  even if I loved the place. Too bad for her, I had the umbrella. I gave her a push led her to the right direction. Since, it was raining, she had no choice. You would be happy to know that she thanked me afterwards. (Insert I told you so look here. LOL!)

It was a Wednesday afternoon, no sleep yet and still up for a little RNR with SO.
She had no work while I on the other hand have. Came from a Ramen Sluprylicious Event and went straight to BGC. Dizzy that I might be, the place gives off a relaxing vibe.
One would give props to the THE WHOLESOME TABLE team for having the guts to put a tree inside the restaurant but even more that they have an awesome beverage bar. This is where the magic happens. They make your organic smoothies, juices and everyone's favorite, Coffee.
BE WORTHY (350Php) -Banana, almond butter, hemp, vanilla, cacao, maca, sole, honey, chia seeds, almond milk
BE FUELED (290Php) - Banana, raw cashews, dates, cacao nibs, coffee beans, vanilla.

Believe it or not, SO got fooled, she believed she ordered the one with mango, while I JEDI mind tricked her into not doing that. Anyway, she got my BE WORTHY and left the BE FUELED with me. She said it tasted more mangoeir! LOL! Difference between the two ? The BE FUELED had a more distinct coffee taste. Generally, they both taste somewhat like a banana chocolate shake. YUMMY!
The complimentary bread rolls were accompanied by herbed butter. I must say, the butter didn't taste like one. It didn't taste like anything at all. Near flavorless, yet it did give the mouth feel. The rolls did give a bite so not airy at all.
The WHOLESOME SALAD (350Php) - refreshing house salad with sweet grape tomatoes, Haas avocado, and onions and tossed in a sherry vinegar dressing with honey and extra virgin olive oil.
I got to agree with the word refreshing. The greens were crunchy and fresh. The vinegar dressing was light and not too heavy.

She wanted soup because it was raining, so she got the HEARTY TOMATO SOUP. (160Php)
Not too thick and creamy, this dish warms up the heart and the tummy.
Organic grape tomatoes sauteed in aromatic onions, garlic, basil and a rich vegetable broth and topped with natural cream.

To satisfy my cheese addiction, I got the BURRATA (270Php).
Just the right amount of saltiness and yet oh so creamy. A little amount would go a long way.
We finished the bread and had the remaining half mixed in with the soup. Creamier!!!
Topped with grape tomatoes, fresh basil and drizzled with balsamic reduction. Served with Sour dough toasts.
The ORGANIC MUSHROOM FRITTERS (320Php).
Amazing stuff! The sausage breading wasn't overwhelming. It blended well with the cheese and the mushroom.
Mozzarella-stuffed button mushrooms wrapped in homemade Italian sausage, breaded and crisp-fried and served with a fresh cherry tomato passato

Since she couldn't eat without RICE, she just had to have some meat to munch on.
PORK CHOPS (550Php)
Thick slices. Not over cooked. Juicy. Potatoes were a perfect match.
(in her case she still ordered brown rice.)
Thick slices of Pork Chopes, grilled to perfection and served with roasted potatoes.

Truthfully, one would say that the dishes and the drinks are pricey.
I believe you get what you pay for. The food is healthy and filling. I didn't go out bloated but I had a sense of enjoyment. The drinks were made from scratch and definitely gives you that organic energy boost. Budget around 700 Php per person. In our case, I think we ate for a group of 4 so, you know what happened. She ate "everything" and brought home the FOODINTHEBAG.  LOL!

  2. The hearty tomato soup almost looked like mango sago (the dessert) to me. :P Looking delightful were the organic mushroom fritters. It seemed to have a perfect blend of meat and savory herbs--absolutely a knockout.
