"Once you go black... you never go back..."
and with that... I think I can say that one of my best meals in the Alabang Area would be in The Black Pig.
One faithful, sleep-deprived, tiresome Saturday, I went down south for a staycation. Of course, if one wants to enjoy, the tummy must be filled up first. I drove for an hour just to get here and I was floored! It was all worth it.
After getting seated, we were served complimentary bread basket.
Olive oil, gazpacho and other bread variants.
Delicious and made in house according to one of the staff.. Too bad they don't sell it.

Would have bought some.
Another interesting freebie is the beet root gazpacho with cream cheese and beet root chips.
Kill me now... When I tasted this I was in heaven. Cool and refreshing.
Chips were an excellent game changer.
Someone got a pot of tea... while I chose to try something else.
Holgate beer taps
I went for a Black Pig Bear Flight.
Four different flavors. Start from the mild all the way to the hard. Personally, I was happy with the mildest one. My companion loved everything. Even if the taste was a bit bitter and heavy for me. Honestly I am not sure with the arrangement but go for it as you get to try a lot of variants.
The Cheese Selection had 4 types of exquisite cheese... DUH!!!
in addition to these starters we also had the Charcuterie Board.
This is a great start to an impressive meal. I love how these go well with everything so far. Don't ask but yes I ate most of it...
and this is how!!!!
I mix all of it into ONE BIG BITE!!!
To start our mains, I got a Black-Ink Risotto.
The risotto was masterfully made. The capers were appropriately placed and wasn't overwhelming.
I loved it!
I loved it!
I also got a Poached Egg & Mushroom Puree
Interesting use of a poached egg. The mushroom puree complimented the egg very well.
My companion got the Mahi-Mahi Fillet.
Shitake Mushrooms and teriyaki sauce. Perfectly cooked and sweet to taste.
On the way out. Always look for this girl for she has THE JAR!!!
She serves home made marshmallows with a different flavor twist.
It looks normal right? but that day it tasted something different. I couldn't remember the name but I could definitely remember the taste! LOL ...
The service was excellent. Price was appropriate for the experience. Although, budget around 800-1000 Php per hungry kid. Also, I love how the basement parking is still free of charge!!! LOL! Excellent!
I think I saw my self portrait on the floor.
